Blitzilates#2 will feature 6 presenters who will cater to you not only as a Pilates Professional but also as a Mover and as a business owner.

The APMA is excited to announce our presenters for our 2nd official Virtual event, 48hr Blitzilates.  We are proud to present our presenters: Maggie Macgill, Stephanie Glickman, Katie Crane, Geri Taylor, Tracey Mallett and Karlie Andrews.

Presenters

Maggie Macgill is a Pilates and Chi Running® educator with twenty years of international teaching experience. She is a graduate of the Master’s Program at The Pilates Centre in Boulder, Colorado, holds a degree in research methods and is a qualified life coach. Maggie has enjoyed a dynamic career, working in athlete training facilities, biomedical clinics and studios across Australia and North America. Her clients have included those with complex injury and chronic pain, a divers range of professional sportspeople, paralympians and Olympic gold medallists.

Maggie’s teaching is strongly influenced by her commitment to translating the Pilates method into fluid and efficient running form. She delivers her Pilates On The Run workshops to movement practitioners and running coaches internationally. Maggie thrives on her continuing education and growth as a practitioner, in particular through her connection to The Pilates Centre in Boulder, the Chi Running® instructor community and her studies in Body Mind Centering®. Maggie has practiced Pilates every day since she began teaching 1999. She loves the way it gives her the ability to tackle challenging hikes in remote wilderness areas and run in a way that feels amazing to her body. 

Stephanie Glickman has owned and operated Armature Pilates & Strength in Brunswick, Victoria since 2006. She is certified through five Pilates schools (Stott Pilates, Pilates ITC, Polestar, APMA and Breathe Education) and has worked extensively in the Pilates and fitness industry for the past 17 years. She is passionate about bridging the complementary modalities of Pilates and strength training. A former Stott Pilates Instructor Trainer, Stephanie is a trainer for Breathe Education across Cert IV and Diploma courses and regularly presents nationally in the fitness and Pilates arena. She is a Level 4 APMA member and a Principal Trainer member with the PAA. 

Katie found Pilates in the USA before relocating to Darwin, Australia in 2007 where she opened Darwins first fully equipped Pilates studio. In her early 20’s she was warned that her spine would not be able to carry her into her 40’s, but never one to play by the rules, she has defied all warnings and is living life to the fullest, with Pilates being her saving grace and adventure sports her lifelong passion.

Paving the way for the industry in the Top End, Katie is recognised as a small business alumni by the National Telstra Business Awards since 2013 and she is an active member of Her Business Marketing Mastermind, Australia.

Katie holds certificates with BASI, PITC, Polestar is a teacher trainer with Body Organics Australia, and Level 2 Trainer for Pilates Alliance Australasia.

When at home Katie is most passionate about working with complex conditions and advocates healing through movement and meditation. She is contracted by Darwin Army Barracks to help injured soldiers recover from horrific injuries and she works mostly with chronic pain, disabling injuries and mental health.

Having established Pilates in Northern Australia, Katie sets herself aside by bringing her business nouse to the floor. Her success has little to do with luck and everything to do with strategy and planning, with a background in business management that has allowed her to flourish in a little known hub at the top end of Australia.

Her passion for life is contagious and her story of success is both elevating and inspiring.

Geri Taylor has been teaching movement for 40 years, since the time of Jane Fonda and leg warmers, and teaching Pilates for 20 years. The first time she did Pilates she thought “this is the best exercise ever, and every- one should be doing it.” She still thinks the same.

Geri has taught Pilates in Australia, the US and Europe, and travelled the world to study with many of Pilates elders and most respected teachers. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Pilates, is a Level 4 Trainer with the APMA and PAA, and has done intensive study with Polestar, Fletcher and Stotts Pilates.

Five years ago she discovered the importance of fascia and went on to do a Diploma of Bowen Therapy. She uses the principles of myofascial release and the subtle body work of Bowen to help her clients get the best from their bodies.

Tracey Mallett, an internationally known fitness expert, appears on Exercise TV and several award-winning fitness DVDs. The owner of ATP Specific Training and Physical Therapy, she lives in Los Angeles.

Karlie is a Brisbane based Pilates Instructor who works at various studios in Brisbane, hold classes for private clients, and also work for some big corporate businesses in the area.Karlie is a trained Barre, Reformer, and Mat Pilates instructor and absolutely loves what she does!

After working for 10 years in the marketing and events industry, Karlie found Pilates by pure chance. She had always been into health and fitness but had never found anything that transformed her body, mind and spirit like Pilates. She signed up to an anatomy course, and shortly moved onto her matwork qualifications – all while working full time. Karlie was so excited to have finally found her ‘thing’, her ‘passion’ and knew this was what she wanted to do all day, every day. Karlie has suffered from lower back and knee pain since highschool (thanks cross country running!), so was amazed that she would walk out of a Pilates class feeling reenergised, feeling a ‘good’ sore rather than completely exhausted and fatigued.Over the last 5 years she has evolved her style of teaching to include a fusion of pilates, barre, yoga, and functional training that she knows you will love. Karlie wants to introduce as many people as possible to Pilates, and encourage them to live a happy, healthy and well balanced life.
