Workshop: Doing Our Homework
|Saturday 18 July||
9.00am - 11.00am
|Sunday 19 July||11.00am - 1.00pm|
There’s only so much we can help during our sessions with clients. Often long-term change needs to come from the client’s efforts at home. Despite adherence being researched broadly over the past 15 years, more needs to be done in our clinics (and our clients’ homes) to make our changes stick.
This Masterclass will discuss exercise adherence in light of several contrasting sciences: behaviour change, happiness, habit-formation and gamification. By juxtaposing these topics, we are able to consider more aspects of our clients’ needs – the obstacles they face and their motivation for change.
Knowing that we all have something we could improve upon within our own life, this is an interactive workshop. Bring your wish list and an open mind to start here now.

From the Ground Up - Putting your Feet First
|Saturday 18 July||
1.30pm - 3.30pm
|Sunday 19 July||
3.15pm - 5.15pm
A workshop focused on creating a balanced, well rounded Pilates session from the perspective of the feet. As Pilates instructors our role is to engage with our clients as a whole person. It can be challenging to maintain this approach when the client’s attention is drawn to one specific body part or goal. In this workshop we will use our connection through the feet while working the whole body in all planes.
